Snapshots of the Immune System

Have you ever wondered what goes on in our bodies when our immune system is challenged? Have a closer look at this year’s inaugural Day of Immunology photography exhibition - Snapshots of the Immune System

The science of immunology is all about finding out how our immune system works, and this is important for helping us to understand and treat disease.

To celebrate our incredible immune system, the International Day of Immunology, held annually on 29 April, aims to engage the public about immunology and biomedical research. As part of this year’s event we will be hosting a scientific photography exhibition with images contributed by immunology scientists from around Australia and New Zealand.

The exhibition will feature a special guest, biomedical animator Drew Berry from the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, Melbourne, whose animations have been displayed at White Night Melbourne, the Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Art, the Royal Institute of Great Britain and the University of Geneva.

In this unique event where art and science collide, come and see what your immune system looks like under the microscope!

This event is free and open to all ages.

Registration: Please RSVP to attend the gallery opening

Date and time: Thursday 21 Apri, doors open 7pm

Location: St Ali, 12-18 Yarra Place, South Melbourne, VIC, 3205
